Following on from the previous issue, this summer special issue, as noted in the column, features on page 1 and page 4 the results of an urgent survey conducted to visualize the impact of the Middle East situation on the label industry. Out of 123 responses, the survey reported that, as the headline indicates, "90% of price increases but over half expect reduced profits" regarding the pass-through of price increases for label-related materials to label products.

Specifically, the outlook for the current fiscal year showed that 53% of respondents anticipated either "significant profit reduction" or "some profit reduction," indicating that despite price revisions for label products, there is a possibility that the full cost is not being passed on. Additionally, factors other than rising material costs are assumed, such as price increase time lags, soaring electricity and logistics costs, and increased labor and fixed costs. This revealed a situation where profits are not being secured due to factors beyond material prices.
