interpack 2026 (Düsseldorf, Germany) Concludes as Largest Ever

Emphasizing Transformation and International Collaboration in the Packaging and Processing Industry

interpack 2026, the packaging and processing trade fair held in Düsseldorf, Germany from May 7th to 13th, concluded as the largest in its history, with 2,804 exhibitors from 65 countries and visitors from 161 countries. According to the organizer, 75% of visitors were from outside Germany, and 28% of those were from outside Europe.

At the venue, numerous proposals for the transformation of the packaging industry were showcased, focusing on the food and pharmaceutical sectors, including packaging materials, processing machinery, automation technology, data utilization, and smart manufacturing. A major theme was compliance with the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), with many proposals optimizing materials, machinery, and processes in an integrated manner.

Furthermore, automation, data-linked systems, and the construction of flexible production lines were introduced as concrete examples of implementation, highlighting the progress of digitalization and networking in the packaging industry.

Concurrent events included the "interpack Spotlight Forum," "SAVE FOOD Expert Talks," "Women in Packaging," "Start-up Zone," and "Young Talents Day." A wide range of topics related to industry transformation were discussed, such as sustainability, human resource development, diversity, and start-up support.

The organizer summarized, "interpack 2026 demonstrated that the packaging and processing industry is charting its future through innovation and collaboration."

The next interpack is scheduled for 2029. Dates will be announced later.
