Toyobo Obtains APR Certification for 20-Micron PET Shrink Label Film

Confirmation of suitability for recycling process

Toyobo announced that its 20μm PET film for shrink labels, "SC836-20," the industry's thinnest (as of April 3, 2025, according to the company), has received "APR Design® for Recyclability (Critical Guidance Recognition)" certification from The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR, USA), an international organization in the field of plastic recycling. This certification indicates that the product's design does not interfere with the recycling process.

In addition to ensuring recyclability that does not hinder PET flake recovery through its proprietary raw material blending technology, the product is designed to be polystyrene-free. Going forward, the company will promote the global expansion of this product and further expand sales of environmentally friendly label films.
