The Japan Federation of Seal and Label Manufacturers (JFLM) announced two required themes for the "Seal Label Contest." Submissions will open on June 5.

The Japan Federation of Label Printing Cooperatives (JFLP, Chairman Yu Tanaka) recently unveiled two design themes for "The 36th Label Contest 2026."

This contest, targeting JFLP members and associate members, has been one of the organization's core activities since 1990. Excellent works selected from the entries will receive various awards, and winning companies will be able to display their certification as an "Excellent Technical Factory Accreditation System" company, as designated by JFLP, for two years.

The themes for this year's contest are "Phoenix and Peacock." The flatbed printing division features a phoenix with warm colors, while the rotary printing division features a peacock with cool colors.

Regarding the designs, the organizers explained, "We commissioned an external designer. We conveyed the key judging points for both flatbed and rotary printing in the label contest, and requested designs that would allow for strict evaluation based on those points."

In addition, the free themes include seven categories: (1) letterpress (flatbed), (2) letterpress (semi-rotary/rotary or intermittent), (3) offset, (4) composite, (5) digital, (6) other, and (7) idea development. The data for the set themes can be downloaded from the JFLP website (http://www.seal.gr.jp/), and entries will be accepted starting Friday, June 5.

Winning companies will be announced at the "Annual Convention - Tokyo Convention" to be held at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, Koto-ku, on Friday, October 16, where an awards ceremony is also scheduled.
